For over a decade, Taggart Associates has been "Helping Communities Build Unique Urban Environments." Taggart Associates not only understands the dynamics of urban redevelopment, but is committed to helping create vibrant, healthy downtowns and neighborhoods. We help build unique environments that encourage growth and community spirit based on proven strategies and teamwork.

Facilitation through Communication Brings About Perspective

The saying goes, “A house divided against itself cannot stand . . .”, and like any house, a project having diverse or multiple members will not succeed without properly engaging, mediating, and communicating with community stakeholders. Taggart Associates helps clients achieve their goals by facilitating the exchange of ideas and perceptions so that projects combine good planning practices, efficient use of resources, and thoughtful consideration of public interests.

We help governmental agencies and private-sector clients avoid potential problems with the community by circumventing costly resolution issues. Understanding these urban revitalization and public involvement projects allows us to plan carefully the outreach to each unique community. We identify community dynamics and individuality to facilitate change and ensure your project is a success.

Public Involvement Strategies and Communications

  • Develop key messages and coordinate and facilitate stakeholder relations with community outreach
  • Use marketing and public relations to manage public inquiries, coordinate public meetings, and create and implement event planning and facilitation
  • Develop and produce public information support materials (Websites, newsletters, brochures, fact sheets)
  • Coordinate public and press relations (Press releases, press kits, media spots, pubic service announcements)
  • Develop outreach programs to inform targeted public of process, project alternatives, and potential actions that may effect them (Coordination and organization of events including town hall and community meetings, event kick-offs, project celebrations)

Public Opinion Surveys and Research

  • Combine social science and market research techniques to collect and analyze survey data that enhance understanding of public issues, perceptions, and opinions
  • Gather information through surveys, assessments and forums
  • Prepare reports and provide easy to read summaries for analysis and incorporation into project planning

Issue Identification and Conflict Resolution

  • Conduct feasibility studies involving the assessment and development of potential resolution strategies for key stakeholders for implementation into project
  • Conduct informal fact-finding interviews with key community leaders to identify issues and community values that are important to each project's success
  • Develop and coordinate conflict resolution activities between our clients and public or private sector representatives in situations where opposing viewpoints are shared – including political forums, school board meetings, union meetings, and special interest group interactions

Public involvement is a key element in environmental, transportation, community and economic development, and nonprofit projects. By involving those in the surrounding project communities, from private citizens to the local government organizations to area businesses, your project should get the support and backing it deserves.

From the Lehigh Valley to the tri-state area and across the country, Taggart Associates helps find unique, sustainable solutions to urban challenges in communities just like yours. Let us help you facilitate your change with success.
